This robotic handling cell picks up 275 pound cylinder heads, batches them by four, then loads them into a special part washer. After washing, it loads a custom turntable which delivers them to a cleanup robot which blows out each of over 130 holes in turn.

Operators were responsible for loading and blow off. The heavy parts were a safety and ergonomic nightmare. With so many holes to clean, part quality was suffering. This automated system not only streamlined production, improved quality and reduced labor, but also saved on insurance claims.
